How Do I Install The Product After Purchase?
The goal was to focus on high-quality tools that have a long service life while also improving usability. We made new molds for the rods, which are all 100mm length for a good mix of balance, torque, and grip. The Project & Solder Mat is big enough to accommodate helping hands for soldering, most components under repair, and various accessories like magnifying glasses, ventilating fans, and solder spools. These Anti-Static ESD Wrist Straps and Common Ground Points are included with our Modmats. If you purchased a GN Anti-Static Mat, it will come with both of these items. If you require additional Common Ground Points and/or Anti-Static Wrist Straps, we sell each standalone or in a discounted bundle.
The GamersNexus Wireframe Mouse Mat is a large mouse pad designed to fill more of the desk space, sized to keep both the keyboard and mouse on the microfiber cloth surface. The Wireframe Mouse Mat is approximately 36” x 12” (approx. 91cm x 30cm) and is printed with highly-detailed computer hardware components from a wireframe view. The Hex 4.0 & 5.0 (mm) head drivers are completely custom-tooled by GamersNexus for PC component disassembly. We have flattened the hex drivers so that they fit flush with the board, allowing the hex socket to get closer to the hex head screws for a better grip.
The exterior of the hex drivers has also been ground-down even more, allowing good component clearance when working on PCBs near SMDs or through-hole devices. Being on the road has taught us the value of easily stowed and carried tools. The Modmat is not intended for use as a mousing surface or as an active test bench (isolate components under test from the mat, as it is anti-static conductive) and is most at home as a build surface. To reduce the chance of dropping screws into a re-assembled component, the GN toolkit comes with the metal tips pre-magnetized on 8 of the 10 tools. The other two are hex drivers, which we’ve specifically left unmagnetized so that screws don’t get stuck inside of the hex head. This solves two common inconveniences in PC component disassembly and PC assembly.
Our Modmat includes a pin-out diagram for the terminating device-end of power supply cables, supplying quick reference material for 12V rails (for easy current clamping or monitoring), 5V rails, and jump start pins on the 24-pin connector. We also included wiring diagrams for 6-pin and 8-pin PCIe and EPS12V cables, with peripheral wiring diagrams including 4-pin MOLEX and SATA data and power cables. If you ever need to take a multimeter to your cables to check for continuity or voltage, the GN Modmat will make it easy.
Project Mat
Our toolkit also includes everything necessary for disassembly of AMD Radeon™ Vega 56 and 64 reference video cards. We went the extra mile on validating the tools for quality, even custom grinding-down the exterior of the Hex 4.0 and 5.0 driver heads to allow clearance from small capacitors on the boards. The GamersNexus ‘Flux’ Project & Soldering mat was custom-designed as an easily cleaned, extremely heat resistant surface for projects ranging from component soldering and board repair to model building and bike or car part cleaning & maintenance. The Project & Soldering Mat is a 32” x 16” surface — on the larger side for a soldering mat — made of silicone. A hexagon pattern and GN logo centrally give striking flair while electrical diagrams give functional references.
EASY TRANSPORT
The three Modmats currently available include the ‘Original’ Large Modmat, the ‘Original’ Medium Modmat, and the new ‘Volt’ Large Modmat. Component Repair Mat
In the 2018 Supreme Court case South Dakota vs. Wayfair Inc, Et Al., the court overturned a previous ruling that required a merchant to have physical nexus in order for a state to collect sales tax. This means that any state is now free to enforce collection of sales taxes on out-of-state online merchants.
