Huppertz et al. 90 reported muscle relaxation, sedation, difficulty following and participating in conversation and partial amnesia in a healthy volunteer following intake of 0.5 mg of flubromazolam. A case-report described a 36-year-old male affected with a schizoaffective disorder, opioid use disorder, seizures, anxiety and a posttraumatic stress disorder who presented to an inpatient facility and reported flubromazolam abuse 93. Flubromazolam is not currently controlled under the 1971 United Nations Convention on Psychotropic Substances or the 1961 Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs. Diclazepam is the 2′-chloro derivative of diazepam and a positional isomer of 4-chlorodiazepam. It was first synthetised by the Hoffman-La Roche in 1960 74 and recently appeared in the ‘grey drug market’ as an alternative to etizolam 10.
Limitations Of The Present Study

The concept that DBZ use can go undetected raises a red flag regarding public safety. Thus, this study should prompt further research into DBZs and their pharmacological effects so that regulations and standards can be set to manage, monitor, and discourage their use 106. Table 1 summarizes the clinical findings in the literature of these different designer drugs. The case report mentioned in the previous paragraph highlights many challenges clinicians may face when dealing with DBZ use in their patients. One challenge is that detecting DBZs on standard drug screening used in the clinical setting may be hard.
6 Flualprazolam
- The substance was analytically confirmed by GC-MS and NMR 110, 111.
- Schroeder admitted selling phenazepam to 18-year-old and others around the country.
- These more narrow versions of the Analog Act generally have more legal teeth.
- With so many new DBZs being marketed online, the lack of research regarding their pharmacokinetics and metabolic pathways potentially makes them dangerous and unpredictable 2.
4-Chlorodiazepam is not currently controlled under the 1971 United Nations Convention on Psychotropic Substances or the 1961 Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs. A comprehensive overview was carried out by using the EMCDDA/EDND database regularly monitored by our research team, by specifically looking at the ‘new BZDs’ so far notified. Furthermore, given the limitation of peer-reviewed data published so far, a nonparticipant multilingual qualitative netnographic study was conducted to obtain further clinical/pharmacological/toxicological data, including psychonauts’ online trip reports. NPS belonging to the benzodiazepine (BZD) class, e.g., ‘legal/designer BZDs’/‘research chemicals’, have recently emerged in the drug (mainly online/virtual) market. You increase the risks to yourself if you combine phenazepam and alcohol – phenazepam is a depressant and if taken with other depressant drugs like alcohol, it can lead to an accidental overdose and possibly death. A warning from North Wales police in January 2011 was issued to warn residents about local drug dealers passing off large quantities of phenazepam as Valium (diazepam).
Acute intoxication may cause respiratory and central nervous system depression, even though is rarely lethal if the BDZ is taken alone 6. “Plain” fentanyl is identified most frequently in seized drug material, but in many cases it is mixed with other chemicals, including fentalogs. As previously mentioned, the potency of these analogs varies greatly, with some being less potent than fentanyl, while others are much more potent. Another study in the United States assessed many cases of impaired driving that could be attributed to DBZ use, specifically etizolam and flubromazolam.
‘New/Designer Benzodiazepines’: An Analysis Of The Literature And Psychonauts’ Trip Reports
It was found that the percentage of benzodiazepine users increases with age, and its use was nearly twice as prevalent in women compared with men 8. The highest prevalence of use was in 80-year-old women (11.9%) 8. The fraction of long-term prescriptions also increased from 14.7% in the 18 to 35-year-old category to 31.4% in the 65 to 80-year-old category 8.
The analysis and identification of the starting material and synthesis-related intermediates for alprazolam, including thionordazepam, using high performance thin layer chromatography is reported in the literature 159. There is no information available on the pharmacology and toxicology of thionordazepam. Thionordazepam is not currently controlled under the 1971 United Nations Convention on Psychotropic Substances or the 1961 Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs. Deschloroetizolam is a thieno diazepine, structurally similar to etizolam, from which it differs due to the absence of chlorine on the benzene ring; triazolam and alprazolam 87.
Where To Buy Phenazepam Online
Cloniprazepam shares structural similarities with the previously notified BZD clonazolam (clonitrazolam) and meclonazepam. Cloniprazepam is not currently controlled under the 1971 United Nations Convention on Psychotropic Substances or the 1961 Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs. Phenazepam is used in Russia for the treatment of neurological disorders such as epilepsy, alcohol withdrawal symptoms and insomnia. It can be used as a pre-medication before surgery as a sedative, it reduces anxiety to induce sleep and is a muscle relaxant.
Online Therapy Can Help
Symptomatology occurs in minutes, effects may last hours and after-effects for more than 36 hours 58. Many internet drugs are worthless, useless, and sometimes laced with other ingredients like ephedrine or steroids, that, in combination with whatever else people decide to take, can provoke lethal effects. One such drug was MPTP, an adulterant of a “designer drug” hallucinogen whose users went on to a rapid and very ugly version of Parkinson’s disease. The drug’s effect was so specific and so toxic it led to new scientific understanding of the disease. In Estonia, phenazepam is a Schedule IV substance under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.citation needed Schedule IV is the lowest classification of psychoactive substances in Estonia. Although phenazepam is currently not controlled, sale for human use remains illegal in the United States.26 Suppliers attempt to circumvent this regulation by placing a “Not for human use” disclaimer on the product’s label.

Some people may use it to help them to come down off acid, speed or ecstasy after a big night. If the police catch people supplying illegal drugs in a home, club, bar or hostel, they can potentially prosecute the landlord, club owner or any other person concerned in the management of the premises. Like other benzodiazepines, phenazepam can be used as a chill out drug. Only by continuous vigilance, as is the case with internet security. Now they can rapidly go anywhere in the world through the internet and make people lots of money before medical or political authorities know anyone is using them. Some states have legislated a ban on particular classes of drugs, so that not-yet-created versions of older, toxic drugs will not themselves be legal.

Clonazolam, or 6-(2-chlorophenyl)-1-methyl-8-nitro-4H-1,2,4triazolo4,3-α-1,4-benzodiazepine, is a triazolo-analog of clonazepam. Deschloroetizolam (2-Ethyl-9-methyl-4-phenyl-6H-thieno3,2-f1,2,4triazolo4,3-a1,4diazepine) is part of the thienodiazepine drug class, which, like benzodiazepines, stimulates GABA-A receptors. Meclonazepam ((3S)-5-(2-chlorophenyl)-3-methyl-7-nitro-1,3-dihydro-1,4-benzodiazepin-2-one) is a designer benzodiazepine with additional anti-parasitic effects. Although it has proven to be an efficacious therapy for schistosomiasis, its sedative side effects have prevented it from being marketed as a therapeutic agent. The use of DBZs has been a subject of multiple recent clinical studies, likely related to increasing presence and availability on the internet drug market and lack of regulation.

In order to keep up a key good ways from the headway of drug dependence during course treatment, the range of Phenazepam 2 weeks. Now and again, the length of treatment may be extended to 2 months. Like drinking and driving, driving while high is illegal – and you may still be unfit to drive the day after using phenazepam. You can get a heavy fine, be disqualified from driving or even go to prison.
Deschloroetizolam was first identified in a UK seizure of blue tablets in August 2014. The substance was identified by the WEDINOS Project in Wales using TOF (time-of-flight mass spectrometry) analysis 69, 79. There are limited anecdotal reports from psychonaut fora which describe it as “longer acting and slightly less potent than etizolam” 54.

Flubromazolam was listed as a contributory cause of death in four cases. Abdul et al. reported two additional deaths in which flubromazolam was found in femoral blood at concentrations of 8 and 16 ng/mL 108. Flubromazolam pharmacokinetics were assessed in a self-administration study. During the following 24 h, the author observed strong sedation and considerable memory impairment.
Many studies have aimed to identify the prevalence of DBZs and their effects on those using them. This review discussed these designer benzodiazepines and the dangers and adverse effects that the clinician should know. However, beside these BZDs, there are also completely new and recently synthetised NPS BZDs (i.e., pyrazolam, flubromazepam, etc.), some of them were previously research trial compounds whose development did not proceed to clinical use 79, 210. These compounds are sold as tablets, powder, pellets, capsules or blotters, and recently liquids under their own names, at very affordable prices 37, 211, 212. They are usually administered orally, intramuscularly, intravenously or insufflated nasally, or inhaled by smoking or vaporisation; occasionally rectally 70, 152, 211.
Though DBZs can be detected via liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry, it is a costly and lengthy process that is not readily available to all clinics 102. Like the patient mentioned in the case report, users of DBZs may not be identified via routine drug screening, and clinicians may have to rely on patients to self-report DBZ use 101. It is known that regular, prescribed benzodiazepines bind to central GABAA receptors causing an inhibitory effect on neurotransmission.
Like other drugs of this class, flubromazolam achieves its effect by potentiating the chloride currents induced by GABA in GABAA receptors 72. Due to the high abuse potential and life-threating consequences of DBZD use, between 2020 and 2021 clonazolam, diclazepam, etizolam, flualprazolam and flubromazolam were listed in Schedule IV of the Convention of Psychotropic Substances of 1971 73. The term “DBZD” is a misnomer, as the class also includes BZD marketed in only some countries, metabolites of registered BZD and structural analogues of therapeutically approved BZD 32,33. These new psychoactive substances (NPS) have the same chemical structure as legal BZD, with an aromatic ring fused to a 1,4-diazepine ring and an aryl group in position R5 34,35,36,37.
